San Antonio band Honey Barbara is just in time now releasing their most recent album, “Reveries” (2020).
The album interlaces effectively in and amongst HB’s musical body of work (“I-10&W.Ave.,” ”Wave Grass,”, etc.),which may be best described as a sort of modeled relief map, some astro-anatomy, if you like, (trans-Texas) south to Mexico; and west to the Chisos Basin; northward via the Blackland Express, (all the while spirited uncensored through checkpoint and through roadblock);and turning east to Sunup imminent. A paradisal, parallel topography, probably, of euphonious spatial and phasal sonorities for to provoke the conventional ear.

Honey Barbara is James Sidlo (guitarist, songwriter) and Honey Barbara is (guitarist, songwriter) Dan Tellez; newcomer (percussionist) Don Stewart;(bassist, singer, songwriter) Ross Marlow and keeping the homestead steady, Scott Potter (on drums).
Premier guest players include Jessica Decuir of SA favorite Hyperbubble, Noah Peterson of West Kings Highway; and Liz Ruvalcaba of Guadalajaran-based band CIAN.
And then, too, the CD package in itself is a neat little artifice, with its jacket and end-to-end lyric booklet designed by long-time-friend and acclaimed graphic designer Rudy VanderLans (Emigre).
